Cyber Security

With a career history of over two decades in cyber security, Raffy has a unique set of experiences across the security ecosysems. His security and big data market and product expertise is often saught after especially in the areas of DLP, SASE, EDR, identity management, network security, hunting, incident response, threat intelligence, but also data governance, compliance, and privacy. In recent years his focus has been on emerging broken threat intelligence approaches into behavior-led systems and processes to understand devices and humans through behavior driven anomaly detection and psycho social approaches.

Data and Artificial Intelligence

Making data understandable and extracting actions. These are two areas that Raffy is very passionate about. Across big data architectures, data science, artificial intelligence, and data visualization, there are not many that understand this data lifecycle better. A trailblazer in applying big data and data science (AI) for security purposes, he was also one of the earliest voices to caution of the abuse of analytics (AI) in security.

A strategist and visionary. Raffy ran corporate strategy for one of the largest security companies. On a smaller scale, he uses a strategy and vision driven leadership style with his teams. Raffy has been featured in many publications and conferences as a thought leader in the security and big data worlds. He understands bridging between customer needs and business success, having put strategies in place for two of his own startups and helping a number of successful tech startups in an advisory capacity, not just on the technology side, but especially across go to market and product strategy.

An innovator at heart. With a strong vision as a driver and a through understanding of the problem space and customer needs, Raffy explores and refines the use of existing technologies and process and introduces new components to deliver delighting outcomes. As a core example, he introduced security visualization as a discipline back in 2006. He cultivated the largest online community (SecViz), wrote multiple open source visualization tools, published the text book on the subject, and shared the knowledge through speaking engagements and corporate partnerships. k
